Overall Performance:
Handle all of your pressure cooking needs with the Cuisinart CPC-600. This multi-function unit cooks at high and low pressure, browns meats, sautees, simmers and keeps food warm for you. While lacking a dedicated slow-cooking function, this unit is an excellent way to bring the pleasures of pressure cooking into your home, cooking your meals up to 70% faster than conventional cooking methods.
However, the lack of a slow-cooking setting means that this unit can't replace all of your countertop devices. And the smaller price tag's ($99.95 on Amazon) lower cost than the Instant Pot DUO60's $118.68 list price is reflected in this fact, and the added functionality is missed. Still, it's a decent buy for anyone looking for a dedicated pressure cooker, even if it isn't as versatile as others on the market.
Ease of Use
The unit has a friendly user interface, and features a menu function for common presets, and offers an easy to navigate start/cancel button to begin your pressure cooking. Operating times can easily be set with the time functions, allowing you to load it up before you leave home and have your dinner ready and waiting for you upon your return.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning up the unit after use is extremely easy, as the removable inner liner is constructed of sturdy non-stick material. The liner is also dishwasher-safe, so the days of cleaning up baked-on material by hand are over.
The Bottom Line
Critics love the Cuisinart CPC-600 giving it a 5 our of 5. Consumers appear to not be as satisfied, citing the lack of features as the main complaint. Given the price, the Cuisinart does offer a lot of features but not as many as consumers have come to expect. Overall, the Cuisinart CPC-600 is a quality Electric Pressure Cooker that will get the job done.
